Winner of Finding A Voice and CMC’s Emerging Composer Competition 2024. Cathy’s piece Droplet for flute & voice was performed at Evlana’s concert in Clonmel by Bill Dowdall (flute) and Sylvia O’ Brien (soprano).

Commissioned to write a piece of music to represent the 225th anniversary of the 1798 Battle of the Three Bullet Gate in New Ross. My piece Three Bullets was written for strings, percussion & electronics.

A live improvisation playing percussion accompanying Dr Marian Ingoldsby on piano for the contemporary dance duo Sandpaper & Mash as part of the Portals project. The performance explored the journey of migration between Wales & Ireland, taking experience from personal stories of dancers Alexandra Bierlaire & Friederike Zinn travels around Europe.

Selected for Fragments workshop with Fidelio Trio and CMC where my piece Eton mess for Violin, Piano & Cello was workshopped in St Patricks College.

Commissioned audio work GLOW written for viola, cello, percussion & electronics performed live at the Waterford Gallery of Art. My piece was written in response to Rayleen Claney’s painting ‘Pilgrim’ as part of the Portrait, People & Places exhibition.

One of three composers selected for a workshop with New York based Sandbox Percussion and Andy Akiho. My piece sNap! cRackle & pOp written for glockenspiel, vibraphone, floor toms and bongos was workshopped and recorded at the festival.
